"The Cobblestone Houses of Upstate New York", compiled by Dorothy Wells Pease 1941. Research done in collaboration with Hazed B. Jeffery, supplemented with material furnished by Carl F. Schmidt. Reference the first paragraph on page 2.
Little is known about this one and a half-story farmhouse at 4350 Ridge Road West in Greece, other than its architectural characteristics which could date it to as early as the 1830s. It is built of field stones of various colors, shapes and sizes which are laid five courses to a adjoin height. Significant are the unusual "12 over 12" windows. Also, the first floor is four and one-half feet above the grade, requiring a flight of seven steps to reach the entrance. "J. Westfall" resided there in 1852; "D. Rowland" in 1872; "A. Hooper" in 1902; "B. Hooper" in 1924; Charles and Emma Priestly in 1930; and Raymond W. Mercer from the 1940s to the 1960s, according to maps and directories. As it appeared in 2007 and 2018.
